Quick Tip – Have a Non Diet Soda (no…seriously)

Have you ever wondered if it is ok to drink regular soda on a diet? This may come as a surprise to you, but it is ok to drink regular (non diet) soda. As a matter of fact, it’s perfectly fine to have some every day. However, there is an important keyword in that last statement. Do you know what word I’m talking about? The key is that you can have SOME soda every day, not the whole can.

If you are just starting the Exercise Diet or any diet that requires you to cut out sugar, that can be hard. Any diet that tells you to drink diet soda is flawed right from the start. As we mentioned in the post about artificial sweeteners, they actually do more harm than good as far as your diet and your overall health are concerned. But the most important part of any diet is sticking to it. If you are miserable, there is no way in hell you are going to keep with it.

Try this trick and you will be shocked at how easy it is to cut way back on drinking soda, without having to turn to diet drinks full of those unhealthy artificial sweeteners.

  • Only drink soda during a meal.
  • Don’t drink a whole can or large glass. Just poor enough to wash down your food and make your meal enjoyable. If you are drinking a can, poor about 1/4 of the can into a glass. This is only about 35 calories on average.
  • If you are still thirsty after drinking the small/tiny glass of soda, switch to water

By doing this you are saving a ton of calories and making it much easier to stick to your diet. Try it out and let us know how it works out for you in the comments below.
